The performance was held April 21, 2005 at the Mission Dolores School on 16th and Church St. in San Francisco. We had nearly 200 in attendance to pay tribute to the talent of the Chinatown night clubs. This successful event was co-sponsored by San Francisco History Association and Chinese Historical Society of America. Thanks to Gayle Chan, Pat Chin, Ellen Chow, Bernice Louie, Isabel Louie, Ivy Tam, Pat Yamamura, Cynthia Yee, Dorothy Toy, Chuck Gee and Tamaka for their performance tonight. HISTORY: In 2003, four professional dancers of the 50's and 60's nightclub era, decided to recruit ladies from the Chinese Hospital Auxiliary to form the Grant Avenue Follies. Since then, the group has performed for patients in hospitals, rest homes and senior centers to help put a smile on faces that remembered the good old days. They also help raise funds for local organizations in the Bay Area.
